Using a subtle, protective coating applied to select natural materials, this treatment enhances resilience against moisture, stains, and general wear, without sacrificing the texture and elegance that define luxury interiors. It's ideal for hospitality projects, high-use residential areas, or commercial environments where both design and function matter. 

 This protective layer is not part of the fibre itself but is carefully applied over the finished surface, almost like a clear coat to help guard against spills, splashes, and light dirt. It slightly seals the weave while still allowing the material’s character to show through. Treated coverings from John Mark Naturals remain breathable and visually organic, but with the benefit of easier maintenance and a longer lifespan. 

 Currently, this option is available for silk, paper weave, linen, cork, and sisal wall coverings offered by John Mark Naturals. Please note:

• A minimum order quantity of 100 meters is required.
   
• It adds £2 per meter to the standard price.
   
• The treatment may cause slight changes in final colour or texture, due to the nature of the coating process.

 Alternatively, for smaller projects or DIY applications, you might consider using Polyvine Decorators Varnish. This clear acrylic varnish is designed to protect surfaces like wallpaper, emulsion paint, fabric, wood, and plasterwork. It offers protection against stains, scuffing, and colour fading, and is suitable for use in areas exposed to moisture, such as bathrooms and kitchens. The varnish is available in gloss, satin, and dead flat finishes, allowing you to choose the level of sheen that best suits your design. Application involves applying 2–3 thin coats with a synthetic varnish brush, and for porous surfaces, the first coat should be diluted with 10% water. The varnish dries quickly, is abrasion-resistant, and provides UV protection, helping to prolong the appearance and durability of your wallcoverings. ​
